Streetfilms on the Radio Free Urbanism Podcast

I was happy to be invited by Nic Laporte and Ethan Meyers to talk for an hour on Radio Free Urbanism about my work on Streetfilms and lots of conversation about transportation in NYC and all over the world. It was a good free-flowing chat about a number of things I enjoy and unexpectedly we also got to watch some few clips of some of my most recent hits including the new film from Ghent and a big favorite of theirs from our likely most-watched video of all time from Utrecht.

I really love doing stuff like this because it is a nice artifact to exist one day for future urbanists and those who want some history on how the movement started and got momentum using media. But one thing I really cherish about it is one day my son will get to watch it and then he’ll really truly understand why dad might sometimes stay up 24 hours straight working to get a video published.

I also love that we thoroughly discussed my recent Streetfilm looking at the “mythbusting” of cranks posting photos on social media of full Citibike docks and claiming “nobody is using them”. Of course citing facts is easy to prove is complete bonkers nonsense, but nonetheless for a few moments you can watch as I allow myself to believe that.

Why is Nobody Using These CitiBikes?
